Same Name Songs: The Smashing Pumpkins vs The Sex Pistols- Bodies

I really dig on these little comparison topics. The same name song one is always fun. Here we have two bands from entirely different genres with equally great songs. Which one do you enjoy more? Personally, I have to go with The Smashing Pumpkins on this one. As much as I dig on The Sex Pistols, the Pumpkins one just has a bit more substance to me. Granted that’s just my opinion though.

The other day I was hanging out with a friend and I presented him with a question, who are the best UK bands of all time. So, we sat there for a few minutes and created a list that pretty much sums up the best bands from the region. There are so many bands from that area but, the impact the ones on this list had made them the standouts. This list is in no particular order as well. I was thinking the other day while looking for something to listen to about how many bands are out there that have only one album. Whether it’s by choice a la The Sex Pistols or because the band was dropped/broke up or even a one time project, I thought it would be quite interesting to compile a list of all those bands and albums.

Cover Comparison: Motley Crue/Megadeth (Sex Pistols)- Anarchy In The U.K.

The Sex Pistols are one of my top 15 favorite bands ever. They were the band that got me into punk when I was 8 years old. I present to you two different covers of one of their quintessential songs “Anarchy In The U.K.” I find it fitting to do a cover comparison of this song considering what is going on in the U.K. at the moment. In honor of Johnny Rotten’s birthday last week and today being the day that Sid Vicious was found dead, it seems fitting that today should be SEX PISTOLS day.
