It’s been a minute since I last did a Song Battle. I have a long list of these to go through with some very interesting “battles.” Here is one of those interesting ones to contemplate. Failure versus Sex Pistols and their songs “Submission.” What band do you think wrote the better song?
Failure- Submission (from the album Comfort):
Sex Pistols- Submission (from the album Never Mind The Bollocks…):
I’m having a lot of fun doing these same name song battles. It’s been really cool to hear all the responses as to which song you all dig more. Yesterday, while I was stuck in traffic, 3 different songs entitled “Burn” came up on my iPod. Naturally, this was a sign that I should do a song battle for these great songs. I present to you three songs entitled “Burn” by The Cure, Neurosis, and Nine Inch Nails.
Which one do you think is best?
The Cure- Burn:
Nine Inch Nails- Burn:
This is going to be quite the interesting and fun Same Name Song Battle. In this new battle, I put the song “Mother” up for question. On one hand you have Danzig’s very classic song from his debut solo album. And the other you have Pink Floyd’s song from their seminal and very influential The Wall.
Whose song titled “Mother” is the best one?
Pink Floyd- Mother:
This is only the second time I’ve done this feature and I’m really enjoying it. The first one (Creep: Radiohead vs Stone Temple Pilots) was a sort of softball way to begin this but, now we start to really get into the thick of it.
Next up is Black Sabbath vs Nine Inch Nails and their songs “Into The Void.” Both are excellent songs and add so much to their respective albums (Master Of Reality and The Fragile).
Personally I would pick Nine Inch Nails to win. I just have a deeper connection to them than I do Black Sabbath.
Who wrote the better “Into The Void?”
Black Sabbath- Into The Void:
Nine Inch Nails- Into The Void:
