Royal Thunder

New Release: Royal Thunder- The Knife

This is exciting! Royal Thunder is back with one hell of a roar! After time away, Atlanta’s Royal Thunder have returned with their first new track since the release of 2017’s Wick. The trio of Mlny Parsonz (vocals, bass), Josh Weaver (guitar), and Evan Diprima (drums) have dropped a new single/video for their song “The Knife.” This song is stunning and a much welcome return. I can’t believe it’s been 5 years since we’ve had new music from Royal Thunder and I couldn’t be more stoked! “The Knife” is one hell of a song and I have to mention this, I’ve missed hearing Mlny Parsonz voice. It’s so real, rich, pure and honest. Wish more singers had this approach! Anyways, Royal Thunder’s new song “The Knife,” check it out!!!

Cover Song: Mutoid Man w/ Mlny Parsonz of Royal Thunder- Wrecking Ball

Screen Shot 2017-11-28 at 10.09.54 AM.png

There is a show on the internet called Two Minutes To Late Night. It’s quite funny and cool. Mutoid Man is the house band, which makes it even more awesome. Recently, the band Royal Thunder was a guest on the show and singer/bassist Mlny Parsonz (pronounced Melanie) did a rendition of Miley Cyrus’s song “Wrecking Ball.” This version is not only a million times better than Miley’s but it’s fucking awesome!

Check it out!

Band Of The Week: Sisters Ov The Blackmoon

10343001_657150111005619_6157930648203655337_n.jpg

Los Angeles’s Sisters Ov The Blackmoon is what you get when you add parts of doom metal, blues, and straight up rock n roll. This band is well thought out and crafted with great melodies, rhythms, and vocals that are raw and powerful. One can tell from listening to this band that the passion is oozing from each of members into their instruments and the songs they write. There are moments Sisters Ov The Blackmoon remind me of Royal Thunder especially in the vocals, and that’s a good thing. As a music fan I want to hear the vulnerability and spirit from those in the band, and they surely deliver the goods exponentially. Sisters Ov The Blackmoon are one of those bands that should be on your radar, as they are on mine!

Band Of The Week: Royal Thunder

10606411_10155069203080024_6098434554060827427_ni’m really loving the return to form of bands trying to write albums. One band that I’ve heard recently that released a great album is Royal Thunder. This four-piece rock band based out of Atlanta, Georgia, blends the timeless elements of heavy classic rock, 90’s grunge and progressive rock. Frontwoman Mlny Parsonz vocals are powerful, emotional, and oh so striking. The balance of their guitar tone, mixed with the thunderous drums and bass really solidify the impact this band has and can continue to make. In 2007 Royal Thunder self-released their debut EP and started touring.  By 2010 Relapse Records took notice and signed the band starting with an official re-release of their self-titled EP and later in 2012 releasing their full length debut, CVI. Their newest album Crooked Doors, is a masterful piece of epic rock. Just listening to the first song on the album “Time Machine,” you know this band means business!
