Worst Cover Songs: Avril Lavigne (Metallica)- Fuel

audioeclectica_logo1

Yesterday I shared a really awesome cover with you all. Today I wanted to remind you all of this atrocity that happened at the MTV Icon Metallica show in 2003. This is probably one of the worst things I’ve ever heard in my life. I still remember cringing when I watched this.

End Of Album Songs: Metallica

What else is there to say about Metallica that hasn’t already been said? Over the past few days I’ve been on a Metallica kick, and while listening back to all their albums (yes even St. Anger), I noticed how strong their ending songs all are. From their newest, “Spit Out The Bone,” all the way back to “Metal Militia” and probably the best one “The Outlaw Torn,” there is no doubting Metallica knows how to properly end an album.

I’d also like to shout out my friend and fellow listener Ben, he made the new title card (the above picture) for the show and it looks awesome and badass!! So thank you Ben!

Don’t forget this show is totally interactive. So if you have any requests for certain bands/songs or even topics you’d like for me to elaborate on, send me a message or leave a comment in the comments section.

Enjoy the show!

Your host and curator,

Brian

Audioeclectica Radio Episode 1

I’ve been working on revamping the Audioeclectica Podcast for a while now. I didn’t want to make the same type of podcast/show that I’ve been hearing so, I went another route. Don’t think of this as a podcast but rather a radio show. Instead of me talking all the time, I’m going to play you all some great music and tell you interesting tidbits about the band, album, song, etc.

This is will also be completely interactive. I will be taking requests about what bands/songs you want to hear as well as topics you’d like for me to discuss and give my take on. I will be having guest on and they will be picking some of their favorite songs to play.

This is all an experiment but totally fun for me. I hope you all enjoy the show and find some great bands, songs, and cool info from listening.

Without further delay… Here is episode 1.

Songs In Film/TV: Metallica in Zombieland

Zombieland was a really fun movie. I still watch it a lot when I want a good laugh with a side of violence. I’ll never forget seeing it in the theater and then the opening credits started rolling and Metallica’s “For Whom The Bell Tolls” begins. What a great way to open the movie.

Album Rank: Metallica (Updated)

metallica_logo_wallpaper.jpg

Since Metallica released Hardwired… To Self Destruct, I haven’t been able to take it out of rotation. In fact I don’t think I’ll be able to for quite some time. Because they have a new album out I thought, why not update the album rank of Metallica.

Keep in mind, this is just my personal order of how I see it.

What would be your order?

10) St. Anger:

09) Reload:

08) Death Magnetic:

07) Load:

06) Kill Em All:

05) Black Album:

04) Hardwired… To Self Destruct:

03) And Justice For All:

02) Master Of Puppets:

01) Ride The Lightning:
