It’s really fun to listen to different cover songs and find the one that you really dig. Most of the time the original is the best version but, every now and then, a cover comes along and takes the song in a different direction. One song in particular is Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide.” Over the years many bands have covered it. One group that actually did a great version of it was the Dixie Chicks. Natalie Mains voice is the perfect compliment to Stevie Nicks. Then in the rock world bands like The Smashing Pumpkins and Bush have put out versions. Personally I really like The Smashing Pumpkins version. Billy Corgan brings a vulnerability to the song that was there in the original.

I’ve got a really fun cover comparison for you all. Pantera and Machine Head have both covered Black Sabbath’s “Hole In The Sky.” I’m curious to know what version you all think is the best. Take a listen, and let me know what you think!

The Sex Pistols are one of my top 15 favorite bands ever. They were the band that got me into punk when I was 8 years old. I present to you two different covers of one of their quintessential songs “Anarchy In The U.K.” I find it fitting to do a cover comparison of this song considering what is going on in the U.K. at the moment. Who do you think did it best?
Motley Crue- Anarchy In The U.K.:
Megadeth- Anarchy In The U.K.:
Sex Pistols- Anarchy In The U.K.:
I was going through some CD’s the other day and came across a CD of covers I burned. On it there was Disturbed’s version of Metallica’s “Fade To Black.” This got me thinking that I should do a cover comparison of the different covers of “Fade To Black.” So here you have three versions. Disturbed’s, Sonata Arctica’s, and Apocalyptica. Who do you think did it best?
I love finding multiple versions of covers and trying to figure out what one is better. I’ve always had an admiration for the Beastie Boys and “Sabotage” is one of my favorite songs of theirs. So when I came across these versions by Cancer Bats and Korn/Slipknot I had to share with you all and see what one you thought was best.
