Today is Iggy Pop’s 68th birthday. Born James Osterberg Jr, he received his name “Iggy” when he played drums for a blues band in high school called The Iguanas. So let’s all raise a glass to celebrate Iggy!!!
The Stooges:
Raw Power:
Today just feels like a day for some Silverchair

Israel’s Son from Frogstomp:
In anticipation of the new album by Mastodon, entitled “Once More Round The Sun” here are the first 2 tracks released from that album. When I saw Mastodon live recently, they played them and in classic Mastodon form, these songs are beasts live. I present to you all, “High Road” and “Chimes At Midnight.”
High Road:

Guns N Roses have always been one of my favorites. There has always been 2 songs in their catalog that always make me stop what I’m doing and listen. I’d also like to dedicate this post to my friend Andy who recently passed away.
Estranged:
Patience:
In honor of Jerry Cantrell’s birthday here are 2 from Alice In Chains:
Down In A Hole:
Them Bones:
Stabbing Westward a very underrated yet awesome band from way back when. The songs still hold up. Here are a couple gems!

In late 2013 A.F.I. released their album Burials which continues their evolution into the the more goth-pop side of things. Granted they will never be what they once were, Burials takes the best parts of Sing The Sorrow and mixes it with The Art Of Drowning style riffs. Their new album has stuck with me since I bought it and is far better than their previous 2 releases. Check out 2 tracks on this 2 For Tuesday!
The Embrace:
The Face Beneath The Waves:
No need to write up an entire article. Just watch and listen!
You’ve Seen The Butcher: From Diamond Eyes (this video is sexy as hell)
Be Quiet And Drive (Far Away): From Around The Fur. Top 3 favorite Deftones songs ever. R.I.P. Chi!
I’ve always had a love hate relationship with The Smashing Pumpkins. On one hand they have put out 2 of the best albums of the 90’s and the other I can’t stand Billy Corgan’s voice. Though after coming across the band Sidewave, I went back and gave them a listen again. Now I’m back liking them.
From Siamese Dream: Quiet
From Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness: An Ode To No One
Air- taken from their amazing debut album Wiretap Scars.
Unstitch Your Mouth- from the album Threes. This album was a very underrated gem.
