Echoes Silence Patience and Grace:

In Your Honor:

Saint Cecilia:

There’s Nothing Left To Lose:

  1. The first one remains my favourite – bags of energy, a lo-fi sound and a fresh start – with the introspective There is nothing left to lose following closely behind. The Foos have faded in recent years – it’s all got a bit too comfortable and safe.

    1. As I’ve gotten older I’ve come to appreciate There’s nothing left… It’s a very mature record. though when it first came out it seemed pretty boring. Wasting Light was a step in the right direction… I really wonder what happened.

      1. Wistfulness and pathos are not an nouns you’d normally associate with the Foos, but There’s nothing left… has them in buckets. I think it was written in the wake of Grohl’s divorce (plus Pat Smear had left the band, supposedly fed up with Grohl), and that inflects the songwriting. Must give Wasting Light a second chance. Echoes etc was just yadda yadda yadda to me.
